Since 1941, Northumberland Ferries has been transporting passengers and their vehicles between Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. This 75-minute ferry trip runs across the Northumberland Strait between Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island and Caribou, Nova Scotia, just outside of historic Pictou. Walk or drive aboard our vessels – the mv Confederation and the mv Holiday Island – then relax, stretch your legs, and experience the beauty of the Maritime sea and sky. During the summertime crossings, you can experience local music, entertainment, food, wine and beer samples.
During the peak travel season, please arrive at the ferry terminal at least 45 minutes prior to the crossing you would like to take. You do not pay while going to Prince Edward Island, only when you leave the Island (either by Ferry or Confederation Bridge).
