Barney’s River Station School House Museum

Attractions in the The Northumberland Shore

Barney’s River Station School Museum is a charming pre-Confederation school house that served the local community until 1972. It opened as a community and education museum in the early 1990’s.
It is open to the public in the months of July and August from 12-5 pm daily, and closed on Monday.
Visitors enjoy experiencing the original desks, furnishings, books, maps, school registers, and educational materials that were used during a century and a half. Community history scrap books fascinate those interested in exploring genealogy.

Directions until twinned highway opening: Turn off at Trans Canada Highway (TCH) 104 at Exit 29 south to Trunk #4, for 300 metres.
