Pomquet Beach Provincial Park

Outdoor Activities in the The Northumberland Shore

Pomquet Beach Provincial Park is located east of Antigonish (Taylor Road off Highway 104 between exits 35 and 36) in the Northumberland Shore region in the Acadian village of Pomquet.

This 3-km (2-mi) supervised beach (July and August) has the best example of dune succession in Nova Scotia. The beach has a gentle slope and occasional sand bars.

The beach is wheelchair-accessible; a new Mobi Mat® was installed in 2018 along with the addition of a lightweight beach wheelchair. Other park features include boardwalks, interpretive display, change house, and flush toilets. The park is available for group use.

Chez Deslauriers, an Acadian tea room, is located near the park, as well as a trail, and monthly summer festivals in Pomquet.
